Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

Awana is an international, Bible-centered youth organization providing weekly clubs for kids from preschool through high school. The name Awana stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed, based on II Timothy 2:15.

Our clubs at Park Place Baptist serve children Kindergarten through 6th grade. We meet weekly on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:00–7:30 p.m., following the Bryant School District calendar.

Children's Ministry

Club Structure

Each club meeting is composed of four main parts:

Opening Ceremonies

  • Welcome and pledges to the American Flag and the Awana Flag
  • Reminder of the purpose of Awana

Game Time

  • Approx. 15 minutes of fun, interactive games
  • Games are created around the Awana game circle

Handbook Time

  • Approx. 30 minutes of small-group Bible study
  • Leaders help clubbers memorize Scripture and engage in learning activities
  • Children earn awards and badges as they complete sections
  • Provides a strong foundation in spiritual truths

Devotional

  • Deeper study of God’s Word
  • Led by adults using engaging teaching methods
